Ms. Jen Bio

Jennifer Simpson was born, the eldest of two children, in Chicago, Illinois and raised in the suburb of Park Forest, Illinois. After completing her elementary and high school education, she attended Washington University in St. Louis. There she received her Bachelor’s of Arts and Science degree in Psychology, also completing a Masters of Social Work degree emphasizing in Children, Youth, and Families.

Jennifer has always had a passion for the children and youth of the communities she lives in. It started during her junior and high school years where she served as a student leader in her local church’s youth ministry, HYPE and JAM, led by Pastor Alise and Pastor James. While studying in St. Louis, she worked for Kids’ Place, an afterschool program, dedicated to providing a safe place for children of the St. Louis community. In addition, she and along with a group of her friends developed a student group named, X.B.E.A.U.T.Y.X., an organization dedicated to the uplifting the self-esteem of girls through a variety of programs like the annual prom dress drive.

When Jennifer returned to her home of Park Forest, she decided to continue to pursue her passion for children. While working, she volunteered at The Emmaus Community’s student gatherings. She served the students and families of the community for one year and was then hired to serve in the capacity of Youth Pastor.

Not only does she serve as the Youth Pastor, but she also teaches rhythmic dance and step, to the students of Matteson Elementary School. During her free time, she likes to run for long distances, read, and enjoy good times with her friends.
